Initially, Ricky worked in HR, even completing her thesis during her first year. However, as she interacted with colleagues from the trading department, her curiosity grew. “Most of the people I interviewed were from the trading department, and I found myself becoming more interested in what they do,” she says. The decision to switch from HR to trading was not taken lightly, but Ricky’s desire to explore new opportunities and expand her skill set led her to embrace this new challenge. “I realized it’s better to have a background in several things if I want to explore different directions later on,” she explains.
Discovering the World of Trading
The transition to trading was driven by both opportunity and interest. “It was partly the only thing available, but I also liked that trading is quite different from other positions,” Ricky shares. What she found particularly appealing was the direct correlation between effort and reward. “In trading, the better you perform, the more you get out of it,” she notes. It’s important to us to stay as one company,” she says.
